Job Title: Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer to join our team at the Centre for Comparative Medicine Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking technical and staff supervision/management duties in connection with the operation of a laboratory animal facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage laboratory animal facility operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff members, including training and development programs.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare.
  • Collaborate with research teams to provide technical support and expertise in laboratory animal science and technology.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to laboratory animal facility operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as laboratory animal science, biology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Experience in animal husbandry, operation and maintenance of equipment for sanitation and sterilisation, or inventory/record keeping is an advantage.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on a fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
