Job Title: Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer

Job Summary:

The University of Hong Kong is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer to join our Centre for Comparative Medicine Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking technical and staff supervision/management duties in connection with the operation of a laboratory animal facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage laboratory animal facility operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to research staff and students on laboratory animal care and handling.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare.
  • Collaborate with research teams to design and implement animal husbandry and research protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to laboratory animal research.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Experience in animal husbandry, operation and maintenance of equipment for sanitation and sterilisation, or inventory/record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
