Wat ga je doen?
What will you be doing?During the next 3 years, the Dutch research and expertise network post-COVID will be developed. This network supports the implementation of post-COVID research and accelerates the transfer of results from research and practice to patient care. Part of this network is the platform Methodology, Data Science, and Statistics. The platform aims to ensure that research initiated and executed through the consortium is of high methodological quality. Together with a senior researcher appointed to the Leids UMC, you will facilitate this through 2 main tasks: Giving advice and recommendations on questions regarding methodology, data science and (bio)statistics, including but not limited to: research questions, research designs, measurement instruments, study population, endpoint definition, sample size, analyses, and interpretation and dissemination of results. Harmonization of definitions, endpoints, and measurement instruments, such as working definitions of post-COVID syndrome, postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), post-exertional malaise (PEM), and brainfog, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for measuring e.g. pain, fatigue, the processing of stimuli.
In this position, you will wotk in a multidisciplinary team consisting of epidemiologists, physicians, patient representatives and other stakeholders. Wat vragen wij van jou? Job Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic academic with strong quantitative skills. You have a PhD degree in data science, epidemiology or (bio)statistics, and relevant experience with human-related research. Your interest in scientific research is evident from relevant experience and (contributions to) international publications.
You have strong communication skills and can clearly convey complex methodological and statistical concepts to physicians and fellow researchers, and you can work independently as well as in a team. You are critical, analytical and didactic. You have extensive experience in statistical consultancy, and are an experienced user of statistical software (such as R). Hoe ziet je werkomgeving er uit? Within KIO you will be positioned at the department of Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Technology Assessment (KEMTA). KEMTA is part of the Maastricht University Medical Centre+. KEMTA participates in clinical and health technology research projects and initiates independent research with the goal of achieving the best possible patient care. Approximately 25 people work at KEMTA, and the department is led by a professor of Health Technology Assessment and Decision making and an associate professor of Clinical Epidemiology. It is primarily a contract of 1 year for 28 - 36 hours per week. After proven suitability, the contract can be extended until a maximum of March 1, 2027 according to the University Medical Centre collective labour agreement article 2.4.2. Wat bieden wij? What we offer
