The Inland Operations & Procurement Team (IOP) consists of four pillars: Procurement, Pricing, Control, and the Admin/System Support team. The Procurement Team is responsible for procuring the most competitive inland transport & depot rates (contract management) and ensure ONE can offer its customers a wide range of sustainable inland transportation services. The team looking after Inland Pricing ensures all spot rate requests and large customer tenders are managed in a timely manner.

The (Cost) Control Team is responsible for creating/enhancing cost awareness amongst internal & external stakeholders through in-depth analyses and “looker” reports. Also, they are active participants in IOP cost management projects. The final aim is to improve ONE’s cost exposure and/or increase revenue. All is monitored through the monthly “Inland Revery Reports” against set targets and IOP Business Plan.

Job Purpose 

The primary purpose is to prevent excessive spending by identifying and rectifying deviations from established norms and expected operational cost levels throughout EUA. Make use and develop cost control techniques to minimize waste, maintain financial discipline, and achieve operational stability.

Primary Job Responsibilities and Measurement:

The goal of cost control is to give ONE a powerful framework that’s designed to improve visibility and keep us in control of our operating costs. Cost control reduces costs and expenses by managing budget vs. actual variances by department and taking corrective action Establishing a uniform process of measuring vendor performance. Formulate KPI’s and use the PARIS system & portal to log all events (100% logged) Ensure that the most cost-effective vendors (TRS/TES) and modes per corridor are used throughout EUA region. Define a clear prioritization and instructions to local offices after agreeing with PRM and OPS Heads Monthly Inland Recovery reporting through Looker reports. Share / analyze the results together with all stakeholders. Monthly reports being created and shared, and act where needed. Promote our inland products by enhancing our website and update all stakeholders in case of any changes (Quarterly update message)

Skills, Qualifications, and Expertise:

Operational experience across the Continental area A good understanding of the European Inland Intermodal network Good knowledge of the English language, verbal and in writing Proven knowledge of Microsoft applications like Excel, Word and Access.
