Job Description

We are hiring for a Senior Consumer Insights Analyst to be a key part of a small but growing Data & Culture Lab team to work with us and our global clients. This is pivotal position in the engine room of the agency, and a key enabler of our strategic process. The work we do involves navigating the rapidly changing consumer and cultural landscape, spotting emerging trends, and deciphering their implications using combination of the most innovative approaches and tools and turning those data points and cultural signals into insights and narratives. You will be either a cultural strategist or insights analyst with a passion for understanding human behaviour and contemporary culture or a trend savvy data/social media analyst who wants the opportunity to work on a range of amazing global accounts. 

You need to be proficient at using diverse types of data and consumer intelligence gathering tools to deeply understand people, brands and culture in a way that benefits the brand strategy and creative and process. The Senior Consumer Insights analyst should be able to identify compelling new tastes and behaviours and turn that into trends and insights that can inspire strategy and sell creativity. Storytelling and bringing it to life is just as important as the ability to spot emerging trends, use data to support, and validate.  

Your primary role will be: 

Working closely with the Head of Data & Culture Lab and senior data and brand strategists, you will be helping to uncover fresh insights into human behaviour and cultural trends from both qual and quant sources to inspire and inform our brand building, creative and innovation development.  

A key member of the Data & Culture Lab team partnering with our strategy, innovation, and creative teams, you will deliver insights and emerging trends that will help shape, navigate, the research and inform creative briefs that enable us to elevate brands into culture.  

What you’ll do:  

  • Work with the Data & Culture Lab team to spot emerging consumer and cultural trends that can unlock and strategic or creative problems. 

  • Perform desk research using a wide variety of approaches, tools and platforms. 

  • Work with our proprietary platforms, desk research and data (Consumer surveys, Search, Social, Client and Publicis Groupe data) to unlock insights and uncover tensions and opportunities for brands  

  • Checking, wrangling, profiling, modelling, and visualisation of data into compelling findings into insights and narratives. 

  • Turn data into insight and communicate the implications of your results in a clear and impactful way, driving insights that fuel creative ideation.  

  • Identify culture nuggets and insights to be used by strategy, innovation, and creative teams. 

  • Translating insight and data points into compelling narratives that can help unlock strategic territory and provide fuel for creative routes and ideas 

  • Work alongside strategists to present to Account Managers, Creative Teams and Clients 


Qualifications

Must-have skills:  

  • At least 4 years of experience in social or data analytics, consumer/ insights trend research, brand or culture strategy; able to link big and thick data science to creative thinking in advertising and marketing.  

  • Use qual, quant data to understand businesses, brands, people and culture to provide strategic insights.  

  • Social Analytics: Conducting brand monitoring/ sentiment analysis and running category/ thematic deep dives to uncover strategic insights or conversations to be part of. 

  • Trend and cultural insight identification using a combination of qualitative and quantitative sources.  

  • Craft presentations with strong narratives, visually impactful charts, graphs and visual images to present to strategy teams
