Position overview 
As a Wigs & Make-Up Supervisor, you will be on a team of 11 wigs & make-up professionals. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the goings-on at the wigs & make-up workshop. In doing so, you will liaise closely with the production people, the senior wigs & make-up artists, and the department head. While the five senior wigs & make-up artists will each concentrate on their own productions, you will be expected to take a helicopter view of the workshop as a whole. 

Responsibilities 

Monitoring the quality of hair and wigs in particular, including during stage rehearsals.  Creating schedules and adjusting them as needed, and monitoring progress at the workshop.  Making suggestions, both technical and otherwise, for hair and wig design within the set artistic and financial frameworks.  Mentoring and training team members/trainees at the workshop.  Creating your own hair and wig designs and special effects.  Monitoring budgets.  Conducting inventory management. 

Your profile 
We are looking for a personable and highly skilled individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive experience as a wigs & make-up artist, ideally in a senior role, and/or as a hair stylist, preferably in theatre. Broad expertise in creating and styling wigs, and knowledge of historical hair styles.  A creative mindset and pragmatic problem-solving skills within set parameters.  Knowledge of the latest wig and make-up techniques. A good command of English. The ability to work under pressure to deadlines and to deal with unexpected situations.  The capacity to foster a positive and supportive work environment. 

Because stage rehearsals sometimes take place in the evening and at the weekend, you need to be prepared to work irregular hours fairly often.

The salary range is between € 38.478 and € 53.330 gross per year, includes 8% holiday allowance paid in May, (based on a full-time position).  35 leave days (based on a full-time position).  An excellent pension scheme.  Opportunities for training and professional development.
