Senior IT Manager of Estates Systems Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.: 524328)

The Role

The appointee will be the ITS Estates Systems Team Lead reporting to the ITS Applications Director, and responsible for: 

working with the ITS Applications Director to define the strategy for the Estate systems and enablement of the University;

implementation planning for the new digital transformation projects, developments and enhancements for the Estates systems; 

leading and managing the ITS Estates Systems team to perform the strategizing, plan, design, build, testing, deployment and support of the Estates systems project implementation, developments and enhancements as per schedule and budget;

managing and communicating with vendors to ensure successful implementation and delivery of the projects and related IT components; 

maintaining knowledge of Estates system capabilities and educating collaborators on the benefits of those capabilities; serving as the internal evangelist for the use of the platforms;

ensuring the team to perform the Estates system project implementations, developments and enhancements aligning with all internal and external audit requirements, data privacy laws, and security requirements;

leading and driving user discussions and engagement; communicating with different teams, thought leaders and decision-makers with a high degree of professionalism; and 

using strength in Estates management business acumen and building out Estates systems and solutions to ensure productivity and enhance user experience. 

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should process: 

a Bachelor’s degree in IT or related disciplines with at least 10-year relevant experience, including 8-year experience at supervisory level;

extensive experience in leading and managing complex IT implementation projects from strategizing, solutioning, plan, design, development, testing to production rollout of business applications, especially in large-scale system implementation; 

deep understanding of business acumen in estates management and university operations; 

proven experience in programme/project management, team supervision, business processes re-engineering and vendor management, while with certification in PMP, ITIL or PRINCE2 is an advantage; 

good knowledge of IT services and applications, while especially knowledge on IBM Tririga, Java development and Power Platform development is an advantage; 

the ability to manage stakeholders and communicate with people across different functions and levels within an organization with strong presentation skills; 

good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; and 

good organizational and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary.
