Introduction

Are you a bachelor or vocational (MBO) student in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, looking for an apprentice internship? Are you skilled in MATLAB and/or Python? Do you have basic knowledge of electrical systems? Would you like to apply your theoretical knowledge in a real world setting and gain some practical experience? Then this apprenticeship might be interesting to you

Background information

Piezo actuators are used in ASML machines under different operation conditions including vacuum and high temperature. To improve our understanding of the characteristics and lifetime of different types of piezo materials, our team of researchers conducts experimental studies evaluating the influence of different boundary conditions and drive signals.
 

Your assignment

As an intern you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and be able to contribute to our research assignments and gain industrial experience in the field of experimental studies . 

Some of your tasks may include:

Execution of experiments on existing test setups;

Data analysis and evaluation of a programmable System on Chip (SoC) for data acquisition;

Testbench for possible extension of our test setups;

Realization and validation of a bench-top prototype with representative test circuits.

Your profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

Are busy with your MBO or bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar study;

Have basic knowledge of electrical systems;

Are skilled in tooling like MATLAB and Python;

Are solution oriented and have a hands-on mentality;

Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is an apprentice internship (non-thesis) for 5 days a week with a duration of 3-6 months. The start date is around September.
