How we support our clients

The world is confronted with one of the biggest challenges of humankind: climate change. Governments are setting ambitious targets in line with the Paris agreement and consumers are demanding more focus and transparency of companies in decreasing their environmental footprint. Moreover, topics like human rights, diversity and inclusion and well being are on top of the governments and companies’ agenda, making sustainability a complex and strategic topic for our clients.

At BearingPoint we are supporting our clients in defining clear corporate sustainability strategies and new sustainable business models, as well as setting up the measurement systems and governance to ensure they are ready to achieve their ambitions. For example, we have developed a state-of-the-art emission calculator to provide our clients with an overall picture of their corporate carbon footprint, as well as detailed insights to reduce it.

Your role

As an Expert Corporate Sustainability and Strategy, you guide a multidisciplinary team on challenging (sustainability) assignments, within a wide range of clients in various industries like Consumer Goods & Retail, Energy, Utilities, Postal, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical. As a team you deliver complex projects that support our clients in realizing their sustainability ambitions.

Next to supporting our clients, you are a thought leader that is continuously monitoring the latest sustainability related trends relevant for the industries we operate in. You are using this knowledge to develop new propositions and point of views for our company.

We are looking for an expert with a proven track record in sustainability and management consultancy and/or have an industry background within the field of sustainability.

Your responsibilities

Delivery of projects for our clients, from (sustainability) strategy design to transformation management, to calculating the corporate carbon footprint – this includes responsibilities like project- and (senior) stakeholder management, guiding junior colleagues on the job, quality assurance and responsible for overall project success.Guiding clients towards new sustainable business strategies, development and integration of innovative concepts and technology and transformation plans.Developing new business through own network and acquisition of new clients and managing senior client stakeholder relationships.Signaling and acting upon the needs of the clients and translate these into (sustainability) projects.Actively monitoring new developments, innovations and trends in the field of sustainability and translating these into thought leadership (articles, presentations, roundtables etc.)Leading the development of new propositions in the field of sustainability to increase and improve our sustainability offerings portfolio.Improve and guide our growing practice within the European BearingPoint network.

Qualifications;

A Master’s degree, preferably (corporate) sustainability related, or with a technical or (organizational) business / energy focusProven track record (5 – 10 years) in sustainability and/or management consultancy or have an industry background within the field of sustainabilityStrong analytical skills and numerical understandingProven project management skillsExcellent communicative skills in both Dutch and English (written and oral)Preferred candidates have experience on topics such as:

- Corporate sustainability

- The current socio-environmental challenges businesses face (e.g. climate change, biodiversity, diversity and inclusion, resource and waste management etc.)

- CSRD/CSDDD

- ESG frameworks

- Greenhouse gas accounting

- Sustainable business strategies/models

- Sustainable development goals

- Change management
