Senior Manager, Accounting- FinTech Accounting

Senior Manager, Accounting is part of the FinTech Accounting team reporting to the Director of FinTech Accounting within the Global Accounting & Operations organization. It takes full ownership and responsibility of the accounting for a defined set of multiple entities, collaborating with senior stakeholders in Finance and the business. The role manages a team of people managers and drives operations, engagement, and development within a large team located in diverse worldwide locations.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Lead the accounting activities across all FinTech Accounting Financial Close teams
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders within Finance and the business unit
  • Take full ownership and responsibility of the accounting for a defined set of accounts across multiple Booking entities in accordance with accounting standards
  • Sign off on the regular and timely preparation of all required financial reports and schedules for defined sets of entities
  • Lead and be responsible for all of the accounting activities for all fintech accounts
  • Guide the team in handling and solving complex issues impacting accounting, with a focus on global impact
  • Manage a team of people managers and drive operations, continuous improvements, and development within a large team located in Amsterdam
  • Be responsible for the timely delivery and integrity of financial reporting
  • Initiate and own the strategic goals of the team, driving fintech accounting objectives in alignment with global goals
  • Produce finance-related reports for senior management and stakeholders
  • Liaise with accounting teams, service providers, and contribute to financial strategy
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive automation initiatives
  • Support the monthly closing process, review team performance, and ensure compliance with accounting standards

Required Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Approximately 12+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a multinational company
  • University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics
  • Post-graduate education in relevant fields
  • Experience in finance/accounting in a Big4 or multinational corporate environment
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and training skills
  • Enthusiastic about developing and leading teams
  • Highly effective in communication, organization, and meeting project deadlines
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, diverse, and high-achieving environments
  • Proven ability to drive organizational changes and influence stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong IT experience in financial systems, preferably SAP/S4/FICA
