Role and Responsibilities

  • You are the Global expert for all Manufacturing Logistics processes worldwide.

  • In scope are the Inbound / Outbound / Warehousing Logistical processes worldwide in all our manufacturing locations in Europe, US, and Asia (not in scope is Customer support; service/spare part logistics).

  • You drive and ensure the up-to-date overall global template / roadmap for Manufacturing Logistics processes (with owners/stakeholders), based on standard IT solutions and best practices best suited to ASML’s business characteristics and needs.

  • You work closely together with the Global Business Process Owner, Global Business Process Lead, other Global and Local Subject Matter Experts, Business architects, IT architects / IT system experts, (Chief) Product owners and Agile Business/IT teams.

  • You are in close contact and regularly align with the Logistics Business Process Owner and report out to Sector Line management (Sr. Management) if required.

  • You know the project portfolios; understand relevance / impact for your area; are the gatekeeper for process changes, ensure adherence to process template / target architecture.

  • You participate in improvement projects and in Agile teams, taking ownership for deliverables according to agreed plans, executing relevant activities like:

    • Support and guide program/project definition, scoping, benefits and deliverable definition.

    • Facilitate in defining / gathering / documenting of business requirements

    • Define to-be process designs (in-line with global roadmap/template) and support with IT solution design (in-line with IT target architecture)

    • Analyze impact of changes for existing ways of working and support with determine implementation strategies and change management in roll-out to end-users and communication to stakeholders.

    • Support definition and execution of testing scripts (SIT/UAT) and training of key-users and end users, if required.

    • Support creation /validation of end-user documentation, if required.

    • Support at go-live / aftercare, if required.

  • You ensure up-to-date process descriptions in ASML’s Business Process repository (ARIS) and support during process (ISO) audits.

  • You provide information on as-is processes, advise, give guidance, answering ad-hoc questions for you area of expertise.

Education and experience

  • Master (or Bachelor degree with multiple years of proven work experience) in Industrial Engineering & Management Science / Business Administration / Business- IT management or related field.

  • 5 - 10 years relevant work experience in a production environment with high tech products and intricate production and logistical processes.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Inbound and Outbound logistical and Warehouse processes

  • Experience and functional knowledge of SAP Logistical modules (like EWM/WMS)

  • Experience with process improvement / IT system implementation projects, as subject matter expert / consultant in Logistic area.

  • Experience in business process modeling (in ARIS) and integration with information and IT applications.

  • Open-minded, strong communication skills both in word and writing, with strong presentation skills

  • Consultancy and change management skills, able to convince people, also at higher management levels.

  • Flexible, team player, Self-starter, takes initiative.

  • Structured, strong planning/scheduling skills

  • Fluent in English in speech and writing.


Other information

The Global Subject Matter Expert - Manufacturing Logistics reports to the manager of the Manufacturing Services - Means & Methods - Functional Application Management department. Our department guides and supports the execution of global projects through definition, requirement specification, testing and implementation of new or improved functionalities in Manufacturing processes and applications. We drive and execute improvements in processes and IT applications and offer third line support for end-users in multiple factories for Work preparation & Manufacturing execution processes.
