Both ENDS is een milieu- en mensenrechtenorganisatie die internationaal samenwerkt met maatschappelijke organisaties en zich richt op de wereldwijde rol van Nederlandse handel, investeringen en (politieke) invloed. Dit doen we vooral op de thema’s klimaat, duurzaam land- en watergebruik en gender. We delen kennis met en mobiliseren fondsen voor onze honderden partners in Afrika, Azië en Latijns-Amerika. We trekken gezamenlijk op in beleidsbeïnvloeding en brengen de dialoog op gang tussen onze partners en beleidsmakers.

Onze organisatie wordt gefinancierd door particuliere donoren, internationale fondsen en overheidsorganisaties. Op ons kantoor in Utrecht werken zo’n 40 betaalde medewerkers / 33 fte en een wisselend aantal vrijwilligers en stagiairs. Bovenal zijn we een organisatie met gepassioneerde, professionele en betrokken medewerkers die constructief bouwen; met oprechte aandacht voor elkaar en met grote gedrevenheid op de inhoud.

Functieomschrijving

Wij zoeken een inspirerende directeur die de strategie van Both ENDS als zelforganiserende organisatie doorontwikkelt en uitvoert, en tegelijkertijd ondernemend bouwt aan de continuïteit van de organisatie.
Je bent het boegbeeld naar buiten toe. Je brengt coalities tot stand die van belang zijn voor de Both ENDS missie. Voortbouwend op de ideeën van de medewerkers inspireer je mensen intern en extern en stimuleer je het Both ENDS team, gericht op het samen behalen van resultaten.

  • Je werkt aan het positioneren van Both ENDS in een veranderende wereld van internationale samenwerking;
  • Je geeft sturing aan het ontwikkelen en uitvoeren van het strategisch beleid van de organisatie waarbij je de stemmen, belangen en wensen van onze CSO-partners uit het mondiale Zuiden betrekt;
  • Je motiveert en inspireert collega’s en weet ze constructief uit te dagen;
  • Je bouwt en onderhoudt een netwerk van externe contacten, in het bijzonder met overheden en donoren;
  • Je vertegenwoordigt de organisatie indien nodig in rechte;
  • Je bent eindverantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering van het algemeen-, financieel- en personeelsbeleid;
  • Je bent eindverantwoordelijk voor het aansturen van de interne, organisatiebrede processen en draagt zorg voor de belegging en uitvoering van interne taken en verantwoordelijkheden;
  • Je bent opdrachtgever voor projecten, interne processen (inclusief fondsenwerving) en draagt zelf actief bij aan netwerken ten gunste van fondsenwerving en acquisitie;
  • Je werkt samen met het bestuur van Both ENDS.

Wat breng je mee?

  • Minimaal 10 jaar ervaring binnen het werkveld van internationale samenwerking en ruime ervaring met het leidinggeven binnen een soortgelijke organisatie;
  • Drijfveren die aansluiten bij de idealistische waarden, visie en missie van Both ENDS en motivatie voor de dynamiek van ons werkveld;
  • Ervaring met het leiden van een zelforganiserende organisatie. Je vindt het leuk om met een sterk en zelfstandig werkend team aan de slag te gaan, waarin de medewerkers de koers en strategie van de organisatie meebepalen;
  • Een aantoonbaar groot netwerk in het maatschappelijk middenveld en bij beleidsmakers zowel in het Noorden als Zuiden;
  • Je ziet kansen en gaat actief de boer op met het Both ENDS verhaal en je weet mensen te inspireren en met elkaar te verbinden;
  • Strategisch inzicht en bestuurlijke en politieke sensitiviteit;
  • Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden, sociaal en toegankelijk;
  • De capaciteit om complexe processen te doorgronden en efficiënt te organiseren waarbij inhoud en bedrijfsvoering samenkomen;
  • Leiderschap, besluitvaardigheid, en verbindende vaardigheden;
  • Goede luistervaardigheden, coachingsvaardigheden en in staat je team te (blijven) motiveren;
  • Veerkracht, reflectie, en snel kunnen schakelen.
  • Een internationaal georiënteerde, dynamische en informele werkomgeving in Utrecht.
  • Een bruto salaris van € 5497,- tot € 7567,- op basis van een fulltime dienstverband (38 uur), afhankelijk van opleiding en ervaring.
  • Een contract van 12 maanden voor 32-36 uur per week, met mogelijkheid tot verlenging.
  • Uitstekende secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden waaronder: een premievrij pensioen, maandelijkse mobiele telefoon- en thuiswerkvergoeding, volledige reiskostenvergoeding.

De sollicitatieprocedure bestaat uit drie rondes. De eerste ronde is een kennismakingsgesprek. De 2 e ronde bestaat uit een opdracht, waarna er in de 3 e ronde een assessment volgt.

Voor alle functies bij Both ENDS is het vereist om in Nederland te wonen en in het bezit te zijn van een Nederlandse werkvergunning/visum. Het opvragen van referenties kan deel uitmaken van de selectieprocedure.
