Business Development Manager – Maritime Cable Solutions

Our client, a leading provider of high-quality cable solutions, is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth within the maritime and offshore sectors. This role is perfect for a driven sales professional eager to expand market presence by offering tailored cable solutions to shipowners, shipyards, offshore contractors, and port authorities. Your efforts will directly impact the company's success in this high-potential sector.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct in-depth research to identify new opportunities for cable solutions in the maritime and offshore industries.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to develop strategic sales plans.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including shipowners, shipyards, port authorities, and offshore contractors.
- Understand client requirements and provide customized cable solutions that meet industry standards and operational needs.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the maritime sector.
- Identify, engage, and close new business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure long-term agreements.
Product & Sector Expertise
- Maintain deep knowledge of cable products, industry regulations, and technological advancements.
- Stay ahead of developments in maritime and offshore electrification, connectivity, and compliance.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure seamless product delivery and service execution.
- Provide valuable market feedback to refine product offerings and enhance customer experiences.
Reporting & Documentation
- Keep accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business development efforts.
- Prepare reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Key Sector Responsibilities
- Focus on selling premium cable solutions to maritime industry players, ensuring compliance with international standards and safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities in shipbuilding, offshore wind farms, and port infrastructure projects.
- Position the company as a trusted supplier of cables for power transmission, data connectivity, and specialized applications.
Key Relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Office Managers, Inside Sales, and Engineering , to drive success.
- Establish strong relationships with shipowners, shipyards, maritime contractors, and industry regulators .
Person Requirements
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the maritime, cable, or electrical solutions industry.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations, industry standards, and technical requirements for cables used in shipbuilding and offshore applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a track record of closing deals.
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with key industry players.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented , capable of working independently and driving new business.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-centric mindset and solid business acumen.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills .
