Jouw functie

We zijn op zoek naar een enthousiaste arts-onderzoeker om te bestuderen hoe de verschillende fases van de menstruele cyclus de gevoeligheid van borstkanker voor chemotherapie beïnvloeden.

Binnen de onderzoeksdivisies Moleculaire Pathologie en Tumorbiologie & Immunologie onderzoeken we hoe de hormonale cyclus van vrouwen invloed heeft op immuuncellen, kankercellen en de gevoeligheid voor therapieën. Onder leiding van prof. Jacco van Rheenen, prof. Sabine Linn en prof. Marleen Kok, en in samenwerking met nationale en internationale partners, hebben we in een muizenstudie aangetoond dat de hormooncyclus een aanzienlijke invloed heeft op het gedrag en de gevoeligheid van borstkankercellen voor behandelingen, onder andere door voortdurende veranderingen in het immuunsysteem. Deze bevindingen hebben we bevestigd in een klein aantal patiënten. Nu willen we verder en dit valideren in een grotere patiëntengroep, en bestuderen we de cellulaire en moleculaire mechanismen achter deze belangrijke bevindingen.

In dit fundamentele en translationele onderzoek speel jij een cruciale rol. Je bent betrokken bij zowel de ontwikkeling als de uitvoering van een klinische studie en zult de diepte in gaan door mechanismen te ontrafelen met fundamenteel onderzoek. Het project duurt vier jaar en wordt afgerond met een promotie.

Jouw ontwikkelingsmogelijkheden arbeidsvoorwaarden

Wat bieden we jou?
- Een tijdelijk dienstverband van vier jaar.
- Salaris afhankelijk van ervaring, mínimaal € 4.015;
- en maximaal € 4.540;
- bruto per maand (bij een fulltime dienstverband van 36 uur per week), conform de schaal voor arts-onderzoekers/klinisch OIO.
- 8,33% vakantiegeld en een vaste eindejaarsuitkering van 8,33%.
