**The Port of Rotterdam is the driving force behind the Dutch vital infrastructure and Europe's largest port. Our ambition is great: we want to be the smartest and most sustainable port in the world Together with companies in the port, we are working towards a future-proof port with net zero CO2 emissions. This requires adapting from a fossil-based energy system to a circular economy. Digital also plays a fundamental role in this goal; on the one hand by using the latest technologies to organise logistic chains through the port as efficiently as possible, and on the other by optimising the useage of energy and raw within our industrial cluster in order to reduce energy costs, improve availability/grid congestion and accelerate sustainability.**

**Your role**

In your role as Business Manager Digital & Energy Transition your will be part of our Customer Digital team. Youre main focus will be our Smart Energy & Industry programme. This programme works on various digital developments to accelerate the energy and raw materials transition.
- You will focus on converting opportunities into tangible projects in the industry and transport sector with tech giants and start-ups, public and private partners and national and international players.
- You will help scout, initiate and develop value propositions.
- You are responsible for projects in which the use of different data sources and sharing data are key. These may include, but are not limited to, analysing and developing energy hub developments, (circular) marketplaces or developing digital product passports.
- When there is sufficient market and internal commitment, you are able to take it to the next phase with relevant parties and colleagues.

In this role, you will manage and influence different internal and external stakeholders and dependencies. Through this work, you can expand your knowledge about issues, challenges and trends relating to (digital) energy transition developments even further whilst maintaining a network of relevant relations in and outside our port.

**Wat bieden we jou?**:

- The maximum starting salary for this position is €4.824, - (based on a 36-hour working week) and depends on education and relevant experience;36-hour working week, and the possibility of partly working from home;
- A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position;
- A personal choice budget of 19.6% on top of your gross monthly salary (consisting of holiday allowance (8%), a thirteenth month (8.33%), vitality contribution (2.3%) and an extra budget of 0.97%. This accrued budget can be (partially) paid out and/or used to buy a bicycle, make extra pension payments to ABP, buy extra leave hours or have training costs (not job-related) or career advice settled fiscally;
- Excellent pension scheme with the ABP pension fund (average earnings system in which about 70% of the contributions are paid by us);
- Reimbursement of expenses of travelling by car or public transport;
- A contribution to your vitality by, among other things, giving a discount on your gym membership (BFNL affiliated) and providing fruit at the workplace.

**Departmental information**

You will be part of the Customer Digital team (24 FTE) part of our Commercial Department, which deploys digital to realise the port's strategy and improve performance.

Fueled by data and insights, we identify bottlenecks for our customers and work with market players on digital solutions. We do not build these ourselves, but coordinate and orchestrate them. In the field of energy and raw materials transition, we have already rolled out various commercial value propositions together with startups, scale-ups, suppliers and knowledge institutes. The team is multidisciplinary with various nationalities and backgrounds.

In addition, you will work closely with our New Business & Portfolio (NB&P) team (30 FTE). NB&P works on attracting new companies, setting up projects to help existing clients become more sustainable and developing new activities and services of the port itself. With over 70 concrete projects, the NB&P department plays an important role in creating a sustainable future and contributes to the long-term success of the port of Rotterdam.

University level of thinking related to sustainability, business economics, industrial ecology or similar fields. A relevant technical education background is preferable;
- Minimum of 4 years work experience in energy and/or sustainability. Experience in data analytics is a bonus;
- You can work independently, act strategically and proactively, have creative ideas and a feeling for the market and related interests;
- You have strong communication skills and are convincing towards clients, relations and colleagues;
