**Postdoctoral position in AI for EW and ISR (1.0 FTE)**

**Requirements**:

- PhD degree in operations research, computer science or artificial intelligence, data science or a related field.
- Background in operations research, game theory or econometrics (preferred).
- Knowledge of data science in general as well as practical experience with conducting data science analyses with good programming skills.
- Excellent knowledge of English and good academic writing skills.

**Employment conditions**:

- A full-time position.
- Dutch citizen, fluency in Dutch, excellent command of English
- A salary ranging from a minimum of €3.345 to a maximum of €5.278 gross per month for full time employment, based on UFO profile Researcher 4 and salary scale 10 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
- A holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% (annually).
- Assistance in finding accommodation (for foreign employees).
- Benefits such as an options model for terms and conditions of employment and reimbursement of moving expenses, also including excellent technical infrastructure, savings schemes and excellent sport facilities.

The collective labor agreement of the Dutch Universities applies.

**The School and the department**

The Data Science Center of Excellence of the Ministry of Defense is the premier research institute on Defense data science in the Netherlands. Its main tasks are academic research on data science for relevant units within the Defense Department and to support education on relevant data science courses at the Netherlands Defense Academy and for the Ministry of Defense. This project is in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

**Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences**

Research and education at the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences (TSHD) has a unique focus on humans in the context of the globalizing digital society, on the development of artificial intelligence and interactive technologies, on their impact on communication, culture and society, and on moral and existential challenges that arise. The School of Humanities and Digital Sciences consists of four departments: Communication and Cognition, Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence, Culture Studies and Philosophy; several research institutes and a faculty office. Also the University College Tilburg is part of the School. Each year around 275 students commence a Bachelor or (Pre) Master Program. The School has approximately 2000 students and 250 employees.
