About us
Inalfa Roof Systems designs, develops and manufactures sunroofs and open-roof systems for the automotive industry. We are a First Tier supplier for BMW Group, Daimler, Chrysler Group, Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo, Citroën, Chery, Geely, Hyundai Kia, Land Rover, Renault, Nissan and many others. Inalfa Roof Systems Group is headquartered in Venray (Limburg, close Venlo and the German border with Koln and Dusseldorf in the area), The Netherlands, and we have a global footprint with facilities in Europe, Asia and the America’s.
You will be working at the Global Research & Innovation department of Inalfa Roofsystems under supervision of an advanced engineer as well as in coöperation with other team members. The Global Research & Innovation department is responsible for the development of idea’s to new products and technologies for future roofsystems at Inalfa Roofsystems for the worldwide automotive market. As a department we are continuously improving our roofsystems, creating new roofsystem designs, and following the latest market trends. As part of this benchmarking is very important for us. Here we want to make a next step in order to make our benchmark process and system more efficient and user friendly. You will work with the team to improve the system. Next to that you will support the department with several other engineering task related to for example strength, stiffness, headroom, safety, weight, costs, or adding new functions such as light, solar panels, etc.
**Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities Are**:
- Benchmarking of competitor products compared to Inalfa Products
- Improving Inalfa’s benchmark software
- Document benchmark procedure
- Requirement setting and analysis
- Idea generation and selection
- Concept design and development
- Creating force / strength calculations, tolerance stack calculations
- Creating manufacturing strategy and cost analysis
- Risk assessment

**What Do We Expect From You**:
- You are a 3rd year Bachelor student Mechanical engineering or automotive engineering;
- Good technical knowledge, creativity, and strong analytical skills;
- You are an enthusiastic, pro-active student with good communication skills, also in English.

- gross per month (40hrs, Master / Bachelor level). Additionally we provide a travel compensation of up to €130,00 net per month (based on commuting distance).
