**Youth for Christ Arnhem**

Onze missie als Youth for Christ Arnhem is om gedreven door Gods liefde jongeren op te zoeken, hen te helpen groeien en hoop te bieden.

Het is de plek waar de jongeren uit de buurt naar toe gaan als ze veiligheid zoeken, als ze een luisterend oor nodig hebben, als ze op zoek zijn naar echte liefde en hoop. Het is de plek waar jongeren naartoe komen om hun talenten te ontdekken en te ontwikkelen. Het is de plek waar ze Gods liefde ervaren en de kans krijgen om Jezus te leren kennen.

Door het aanbieden van diverse activiteiten willen we jongeren ontmoeten en relaties met ze opbouwen. Voor de meiden hebben we aparte meidenclub, een aantal avonden in de week zijn jongeren welkom in onze jongerencentrum, we zijn aanwezig op straat met onze Mobiele OntmoetingsPlek. Alle jongeren die wij ontmoeten, geven wij oprechte aandacht.

**De functie**

Als jongerenwerker lever je een actieve bijdrage in het jongerenwerk van Youth for Christ in Arnhem. Je bouwt relaties op met jongeren (10 - 18 jaar) en ontmoet hen in hun leefwereld. Je helpt jongeren groeien en verantwoording nemen voor hun eigen leven en hun omgeving. In Arnhem werken we vanuit een inloopcentrum en zijn we actief in de wijk, maar ook op school.

Als jongerenwerker weet je in open situaties op persoonlijke wijze contact met jongeren te leggen en te onderhouden. Dat doe je samen met je collega’s, vrijwilligers en stagiairs. Je helpt jongeren groeien door activiteiten op te zetten met én voor jongeren. In gesprekken signaleer je hulpvragen, geeft de jongeren waar nodig begeleiding en advies en verwijs je door indien nodig. Je hebt regelmatig contact met (netwerk) partners uit de wijk en weet de relatie met hen te onderhouden en uit te breiden.

Je werkzaamheden vinden voornamelijk in de middag en avond plaats, op een dinsdag en de donderdag.

**Jouw profiel**

Vanuit een levende relatie met God wil je jongeren helpen groeien. Je onderschrijft de doelstelling van Youth for Christ en bent gedreven om deze actief uit te leven. Hierbij voel je het verlangen om je geloof handen en voeten te geven. Je bent niet bang om dit op vernieuwende wijze in te zetten.

Je vindt het een uitdaging om te werken met jongeren vanuit verschillende culturele achtergronden. Je bent communicatief, sociaal en je hebt lef. Je bent flexibel, constructief en bestand tegen druk. Verder houd je van organiseren, activiteiten voorbereiden, contacten leggen en onderhouden en werken in een team. Je bent goed in het opstarten van nieuwe dingen. Je hebt een relevante MBO of HBO opleiding Social Work of pedagogiek. Je hebt werkervaring in jongerenwerk of je bent starter en hebt aantoonbaar affiniteit met het werkveld. Je kan methodisch werken met jongeren en weet op creatieve en authentieke wijze deze jongeren aan je te binden. Verder kun je zelfstandig werken en daarin het overzicht behouden.

Bij voorkeur woon je in (de omgeving van) Arnhem.
