- 1062Are you the go-getter we are looking for? We are looking for somebody who wants to help keep the company and office organized while we grow.
A growing (and changing) organization between 20 and 50 people, like Stream HPC, demands more from the internal organization than smaller or larger organizations. We seek specifically somebody who does well in holacracy (distributed accountability) and likes to take up both the local administration and the office tasks (see below).
**Why work at our company?**
There are two main parts of the company that people just really like or want to avoid.
The first is that we're an IT-company. There are not many companies like Stream HPC and we are proud of that. We are currently 20 people focused on “low-level programming”, “high-performance computing”, “compiler design” and “GPU programming” - so a very specialized IT-company with a strong R&D-focus. We all want the company to become more successful, to be able to do even more advanced projects.
The second is the growth-goal and thus change is a constant. The main reason to join a growing company at its current size is that the role can be defined by the one who owns it. It will look very different in a year, and you co-define that. This also means that things change rapidly, especially due to holacracy. We do focus on clarity of accountability but not on keeping the roles the same over time. So do read on holacracy, as it's not for everybody.
**Examples of tasks**
We looked in our organization where support was needed. The overview is probably not complete, but it gives an idea of what the job entails. Please note that several tasks are shared with others, as holacracy allows for sharing and delegating any (sub)task, so the job will not have everything as listed below - one of the main questions in the interview will be on how you will craft your own job.
- ** Communication with the government**
You will need some experience with government policies and a good understanding of labor laws, as certain errors in forms can slow down the process a lot.
- Figuring out what needs to be done in new government processes.
- Register personnel with the tax office.
- Employee administration of non-Dutch nationals (e.g. IND).
- Other accounting tasks where communication with the government is required.
- Obtain texts, signatures and stamps from the management team.
- Translate documents, and clean up automatically translated documents.
- ** Labor administration (HR support)**
We hire up to a few new employees per month and that requires various administrative tasks. We split up HRM into "People" and "HR Admin", and put the paperwork in this role. Here are some examples:
- Prepare paperwork for contracts (which we templated)
- Support with relocation of new employee
- Administrating the new employee in the HR system
- Liaise with the accountant to ensure everything is in place for new and current employees.
- Track onboarding progress.
- ** Support of others**
Recruitment can be quite busy and one goal is to assist when it's busy. Think of:
- Chasing applicants.
- Make reservation for a venue when we hold an event
- ** Administration and archiving**
An eye for detail and the ability to create structure are paramount. See also the general skills above.
- Properly archive documents in our shared file system.
- Maintain the structure of our shared file system.
- Create new templates.
- Share files with the right people.
- Writing short texts. Especially for internal communication.
- ** General office tasks**
- Creating and maintaining an office-home - the opposite of the home-office

- Buy office supplies
- Keeping plants alive
- Keep in touch with the cleaning person
- Handling the office bank account
- ** Other tasks**
- Organizing business trips (hotel, flight, etc)
- Help organize social events and celebrations with the office
- Consult and synchronize with the other offices
- Collaborate with other branch managers and distribute tasks fairly
**Growth opportunities and job crafting**
We don't expect you to have all the skills to do all these tasks, and that will be the first step of growth. We are therefore looking for people who have the capacity to learn these things, but do not have all the experiences at the same time. Additional HR and recruitment tasks can be learned further in your career.
