Currently we have a new opening for a dedicated Junior Operations Officer to join our team in Rotterdam. Position Overview
As a Junior Operations Officer, you will support the Operations team in ensuring the smooth execution of contracts and physical shipments. This includes coordinating barge logistics, managing administrative processes, and liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Arrange and coordinate barge logistics from the Port of Rotterdam to customers at inland destinations.
Oversee the execution of trade contracts from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
Maintain communication with contractual counterparts, freight forwarders, ship agents, and surveyors.
Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual costs to optimize operational efficiency.
Ensure accurate processing of documentation, laytime calculations, and related administrative tasks.
**Requirements**:
Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken). Knowledge of French or German is advantageous.
**Education**: HBO (higher educational) level.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to think critically, foresee risks, and implement preventive measures.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
A proactive and flexible approach, with a strong sense of teamwork.
