Overview of the Position

We are seeking a committed Senior Network Security Engineer to join our Network Security Team, responsible for comprehensive management of network capabilities that ensure robust security measures for the prevention, detection, and response to cyber threats.

Our team's primary mission is to align SWIFT's cyber infrastructure with industry standards through the selection of new tools, proof of concepts, deployment, configuration, maintenance, support, and license management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will lead and contribute to several critical initiatives:

Serve as the primary point of contact for all network security issues Implement new cybersecurity initiatives to enhance prevention, detection, and investigation capabilities. Analyze less complex security incidents and recommend response procedures, collaborating with senior Security Management Specialists to resolve security cases. Provide insights to shape the security roadmap for future enhancements. Assess and integrate new security solutions into the existing infrastructure. Assist operational teams in maintaining security infrastructure, including intrusion detection, remote access security, email and web security, and anti-malware systems. Support security investigations and incident response efforts. Identify and evaluate tools to automate routine tasks such as system checks, log analysis, and compliance verification. Occasionally assist in audits and risk assessments. Maintain a deep technical understanding while effectively communicating complex information to various audiences. Foster a strong security culture within SWIFT.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, as well as VPN technologies. Proven experience with networking hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and F5. Ability to write clean, maintainable code for automating network deployment and operations, preferably in Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Bash. Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including command line utilities and file system management. Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and services. Working knowledge of network automation frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in:

Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and OWASP Top 10 Web proxies Email Security solutions Network Intrusion Detection Systems (nIDS) Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) Virtual Private Networks (VPN) Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
