About the Role

As a Commercial Manager Salvage, you will play a key role in shaping the commercial activities of SMIT Salvage and contributing to the company's success. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a key account manager for our clients, positioning SMIT Salvage as the preferred responder in the salvage industry.
  • Maintaining and expanding our network of response partners and subcontractors, formalizing relationships through pre-qualification and cooperation agreements.
  • Commercially managing projects from the office, ensuring correct settlement and negotiation of contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Identifying new opportunities for business development and variation orders with existing clients.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for emergency response operations, outside office hours, according to a rotating schedule.
About You

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in business development, commercial management, and salvage operations. Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • A degree in a nautical or business subject.
  • At least two years of work experience in a similar role in an international environment.
  • A proven track record in a business-to-business environment.
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English, possibly another additional language.
  • A keen interest in working abroad when required.
  • Experience in the shipping, insurance, towage, or salvage sector is a distinct advantage.
