Transforming Public Affairs at Just Eat Takeaway

We're seeking an experienced Director Public Affairs to further enhance, professionalise and strengthen our Public Affairs function. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing a global Public Affairs strategy, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business ambitions and enhance the company's reputation.

In this role, you will lead a central PA team and function, coaching local PA managers and educating European country managers on local PA plans. You will monitor regulatory, policy and political developments, assess their impact and deliver analyses to key internal stakeholders. Your expertise will be essential in defining and executing public affairs strategies to support business objectives at central and European levels, ensuring global alignment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a global Public Affairs strategy to support business objectives;
  • Leading and managing the central PA team and function;
  • Educating and guiding European country managers on local PA plans;
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, think tanks, public interest groups and industry associations;
  • Representing Just Eat Takeaway externally in publications, events and policymaker settings.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent practical experience;
  • 15+ years of experience working on technology policy, ideally in a corporate (tech-oriented) environment;
  • Experience in working independently on public affairs and/or tech policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups or relevant industry associations;
  • Knowledge of the political and institutional dynamics at international and EU levels;
  • Experience in professionalising, structuring and organising the (central) Public Affairs function, ideally within a tech/online business;
  • Strong language skills in English, and other languages such as French as a plus.
