Director of Public Affairs and Communications

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Public Affairs and Communications to join our team in Amsterdam.

As a key member of our BeNeLux Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that supports our business objectives and protects our corporate reputation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing communications plans that align with our global direction and local leadership
  • Designing and implementing strategic programmes and narratives that proactively communicate our perspective and shape our corporate reputation
  • Coordinating with cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration on business priorities, execution, and messaging across different stakeholders
  • Examining complex issues from a broader organization perspective, determining communications opportunities, and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Preparing communication materials, including strategic programmes, key messages, Q&A documents, press releases, and presentations
  • Developing and strengthening relationships with a wide variety of community advocates and organizations, championing patient engagement in appropriate cross-functional projects
  • Enhancing our profile among industry associations, media, and other influential organizations across the three markets
  • Developing strong relationships with key media and responding to media requests and arranging interviews with management and opinion leader spokespeople, as appropriate
  • Responsible for our corporate giving initiatives in the three markets
  • Driving internal communications and employee engagement by proactively driving ideas and programmes that support culture evolution
  • Effectively managing all aspects of public relations agency relationships, including direction and project management
  • Managing budgets to target
  • Understanding the regulatory framework in the three markets and compliantly managing internal approvals and interactions with the review team
