Job Overview

The EMEA Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for growing business above market in the EMEA region, developing sales and business development strategies, and ensuring their implementation. This role focuses on accounts in the EMEA region, creating incremental business over new verticals and partners. The Manager must have a strong understanding of market trends, such as Cloud-SaaS-IaaS integration with hardware and software solutions, and core verticals. They will create demand and increase sales by creating project leads through SMART business development in coordination with local key customers and early involvement with large end-users and major influencer groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively manage customer structure in the region (customer pyramid)
  • Ensure sales targets by increasing share of wallet with existing as well as new customers and in existing as well as new business, identifying additional business opportunities (cross-selling) or developing potential new ones in the region
  • Conduct regular customer visits and establish close relationship with customers in the region
  • Implement customer strategy for local branch offices of major (key) account customers and support
  • Negotiate terms and conditions within authorization scheme for accounts in the region
  • Take over local SMART Business Development activities in the region to support local customer base
  • Work closely with Application Engineering, Marketing Communications, Product Management to ensure that local projects are covered properly in all project stages
  • Provide feedback on market trends, customer/end-user needs and support collection of competitor information (portfolio as well as industries)
  • Insert customer related data such as account information, activities, opportunities regularly into CRM and make use of available CRM data and reports to follow-up; Make active use also of other specific sales IT tools (SAP, etc.)
  • Timely inform supply chain on extraordinary demand (special sales initiatives, big projects) which is not covered by regular forecast
  • Support cross-border opportunities
  • Translate end-user requirements into a technical solution and support implementation
  • Create technical concepts, system designs for dedicated product solutions and projects
  • Assist end-users with troubleshooting and upgrades throughout the life of the system (level 1-3 support)
  • Support final installation and commissioning phase
  • Proactively drive projects in the sales phase within the customer Journey
  • Explaining concepts to end-users, influencers and system Integrators on site, at local fairs and international tradeshows
  • Organize, host and conduct trainings for customers locally
  • Provide guidance and support to Application Engineering, Product Management to create training material
