Key Responsibilities
- Oversee three functional teams throughout the protein production lifecycle, from vector design to logistics, ensuring timely delivery, high quality, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Formulate and execute strategic objectives for the protein and cell supply chain, closely collaborating with team leads to align with broader Discovery goals.
- Foster a collaborative culture that promotes excellence and continuous improvement, while encouraging scientific knowledge sharing.
- Support the professional growth of your direct reports.
- Manage resource planning aligned with strategic priorities for your area of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external partners to secure a dependable supply chain.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational alignment and transparency.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with protein and cell supply.
Qualifications and Skills
- A graduate degree is required, with a strong preference for candidates holding a Ph.D. in biotechnology, bioengineering, protein engineering, or molecular chemistry. Candidates with a Master's degree and extensive relevant experience may also be considered.
- At least 12-15 years of experience in the early-stage biopharmaceutical or biotechnology sector, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with industry standards and scientific advancements related to early-stage protein and cell production and/or supply chain management is essential.
- Experience in implementing organizational strategy and operational excellence is advantageous.
- The ideal candidate values a positive, collaborative environment and empowers their direct reports as a key aspect of their leadership style.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings to diverse audiences.
- Ability to adapt to new organizational directions and manage multiple projects concurrently, as required by evolving departmental needs.
