Mechatronics Master Graduation Internship: Industrial Transformation of Motion Control Platform

Introduction
Are you a master student in Mechatronics or Systems and Control looking for a graduation internship? Do you have experience in designing control strategies and software for Motion Control? Are you skilled in Python and/or LabVIEW? If so, this internship might be the perfect opportunity for you to apply your theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and gain practical experience.
Background Information
The design of ASML machines requires faster, more precise, and accurate silicon wafers. Our production is measured by the amount of silicon wafers processed per hour. Faster machines mean more cycles and increased loads, which present a challenge for the lifetime of ASML products. The Test and Measuring Facilities department performs reliability and functional tests at higher acceleration than our machines. The high loads are required to prove lifetime in a shorter time frame. Motion control of our test benches is extremely challenging due to fast setpoint generation and data acquisition.
Your Assignment
In this assignment, you will gather and understand the current usage requirements. You will then dive deep into the new platform. As part of this project, you will perform an assessment of capabilities and functionalities of the new product and find solutions to match and improve current performance. You will have the chance to perform hardware and software integration, which will give you a full understanding of the system. Moreover, you will develop software/applications for motion control.
Your Profile
To be a match for this internship, you:
- Are busy with your master's in Mechatronics or Systems and Control;
- Are able to design control strategies and software for Motion Control;
- Are skilled in tooling like LabVIEW and Python;
- Are driven by curiosity and have a hands-on mentality;
- Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
This is a graduation internship for 5 days a week with a duration of 9 months. The start date is as soon as possible.
Please note that we can only consider students who are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship.
