We are seeking a Patient Engagement Manager for Epilepsy in the Netherlands who is dedicated to making a positive impact on patients' lives, to be part of our esteemed ABN (Alps, Benelux & Nordics) Epilepsy Team – based in the Netherlands.
Role Overview
In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with defining the market landscape and identifying as well as supporting patients within the Therapeutic Area (TA) for which you are responsible in the Netherlands. This involves fostering strong relationships with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders to gain insights into the challenges faced by individuals living with severe epilepsy. You will create impactful solutions aimed at enhancing the quality of life for these patients and their caregivers, leading the execution of these initiatives in alignment with UCB's strategic objectives.
Collaboration
In this position, you will engage closely with various stakeholders, both internal and external, with a particular emphasis on the commercial team, medical team, access lead, and the head of epilepsy for the BeNeLux region.
- Internal stakeholders: including market access, marketing team, MSLs, field force (Health Care Provider Partners), external engagement, and compliance & regulatory partners. You will also participate in several European commercial, patient engagement, and medical networks.
- External stakeholders: such as patients, patient associations, advocacy group representatives, KOLs, individual healthcare professionals, and nurse networks.
You will report directly to the Head of Epilepsy for the BeNeLux region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and implement local patient initiatives based on insights gathered, including but not limited to awareness campaigns, development of patient information materials (utilizing various online and offline channels), content creation and review for patient information materials, driving projects aimed at improving patient lives, organizing local events, and conducting advisory boards to gather insights.
- Engage with stakeholders: establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with patient associations to gather insights and identify shared strategic goals.
- Partner with external networks (nurse specialists, healthcare professionals, etc.) to gather insights and identify patient initiatives.
- Ensure that initiatives, tactics, and activities outlined in the local Brand Plan align with patient needs.
- Serve as a point of contact for patient organizations and advocates, acting as an internal connector for patient organization initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences is essential for this role.
- A compassionate mindset with a passion for improving patient lives.
- This role offers significant autonomy, and you thrive in a collaborative team environment, maintaining a positive and adaptable attitude.
- A proactive work ethic with the ability to challenge the status quo when necessary.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly. Experience in leading larger projects is advantageous.

- Proficiency in Dutch and English (both written and verbal) is mandatory.
