Principal Scientist Polymer Technology Lead

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Scientist to lead our Polymer Technology group, driving innovation and advancing the field of bioresorbable polymers for medical devices and pharmaceutical applications. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and transferring new technologies from bench scale to production, while also providing technical support to our production facilities and global business development.
About the Role- Drive the development of new polymer technologies in innovation projects as project, technical, or workstream lead.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Polymer Science.
- Contribute to innovation by developing new products and processes that advance the field.
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of complex research and innovation projects, ensuring high technical quality standards.
This multifaceted role requires a strong background in polymer material science and encompasses various key activities, including customer-driven research, polymer design, technology transfer, trouble-shooting, process optimization, techno-economic evaluation, and scale-up. You will have the opportunity to further deepen your knowledge in synthesis and purification of bioresorbable polymers, innovate and develop polymeric materials that improve the quality-of-life of patients.
About You- At least 10 years of industrial work experience, preferably in polyester-based polymer technology, with knowledge of materials and (processing) technologies used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
- Mastery of Polymer Science, ideally with a Master's Degree in a related scientific field.
- Experience in product- and process development, preferably in the medical- or pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of IP-management and driving IP strategy for product and processes developed.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should possess excellent leadership skills, with experience in managing a team of 3-6 polymer scientists and technicians. You will be responsible for their health, wellbeing, and engagement, while also supporting project staffing and personal growth within the process technology roadmap.
