Job Title: Senior Category Buyer - Cosmetics

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Category Buyer with expertise in sourcing cosmetics to join our team at Independent Recruiters. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing long-term international supplier relationships, critically evaluating current suppliers, and continuously seeking opportunities to optimize sourcing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive product innovation by collaborating with internal teams to secure optimal sourcing solutions and cost structures from the early stages of new projects.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations, contract oversight, and continuous performance evaluation to maintain strong partnerships.
  • Oversee strategic and operational purchasing to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and under the best commercial terms to support business growth and efficiency.
  • Lead a small team in your specific cosmetics category, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 6-9 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, specifically within the cosmetics industry.
  • A bachelor's degree in fields such as purchasing, business administration, or a related area.
  • Proven ability to navigate and work effectively with diverse stakeholders across global regions, demonstrating strong cultural awareness.
  • Leadership experience in managing a team focused on sourcing and procurement.
  • A highly innovative, analytical, driven, and resilient mindset.
  • Hands-on experience with New Product Development (NPD) processes.

A competitive salary around 85k a year, depending on experience and seniority, and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team at Independent Recruiters in Amsterdam.
