Strategic Internal Control Expert for Energy Transition

TenneT is a leading European grid operator, committed to providing a secure and reliable supply of electricity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As part of our pursuit of a brighter energy future, we are looking for a passionate Strategic Internal Control Expert to join our team.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, build, maintenance, and operation of over 25,000 kilometres of high-voltage electricity grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany, as well as facilitate the European energy market through our 17 interconnectors to neighbouring countries.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Internal Control Expert who can develop and strengthen the risk and internal control function to support the organization's compliance with governance and regulatory requirements and obligations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing the internal control framework (policies, processes, and procedures)
  • Regular comprehensive risk and process analysis to ensure accurate design of controls and definition of mitigating actions in all critical areas
  • Periodic review procedures to validate the design and operating effectiveness of controls and recommend mitigation and remediation actions where necessary
  • Implementing improvements to internal control processes and systems to increase efficiency, data quality, and employee engagement, as well as reduce complexity and eliminate manual work
  • Regularly monitoring the status of control implementation and reporting to key stakeholders

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, IT, or related study areas
  • Holder of relevant qualification or qualification in progress (e.g., RE, CISA)
  • Ideally several years of working experience in a globally operating industrial company
  • Substantial experience in internal control, auditing, or risk management, especially in control design, control testing, and consulting of business process owners and IT operations

Benefits

TenneT offers a competitive salary of €43,800 - €85,950 per annum, as well as other benefits including:

  • A weekly working time of 40 hours
  • An indefinite type of contract
