We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Risk Director to lead our global security and compliance efforts at Booking.com. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping our cybersecurity, safety, trust, and fraud risk management strategies.

Reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer, you will oversee a team of 70 full-time employees based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Your leadership skills will be crucial in driving collaboration with our Centers of Excellence in Romania and India, where an additional 100 FTEs work closely with our teams.

In this role, you will focus on building a comprehensive risk management system that showcases our organization's commitment to leading risk at a corporate level. This involves taking a holistic approach to identifying, mitigating, and measuring risks across security, safety, and fraud subject areas.

You will be accountable for:

  • Risk Management Strategy: Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to safeguard our digital and physical assets.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Lead GRC efforts for Booking.com SS&F risk subject areas, including policy development, standardization, and guideline creation. Provide risk registers for enterprise-wide SS&F risks.
  • First Line of Defence: Oversee the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) Program, guiding BISOs directly and providing metrics to ensure BU-driven SS&F risk management.
  • Strategic Vision: Collaborate with SS&F to develop long-term strategies and establish processes to identify budgetary and hiring needs aligned with strategic goals, risks, and priorities.
