Dynamic Sales Development Professional for BeNeLux Region

Opta Search has partnered with a leading Global Packaging Manufacturer to expand their sales force in the Netherlands and fill the position of Area Sales Manager. This role is responsible for boosting sales of Food Packaging throughout the BeNeLux region from a home-based location in the Netherlands.
Main Responsibilities- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve sales development goals and revenues, specifically in the Food market for an allocated sales area in BeNeLux.
- New Sales Opportunities: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities and areas of growth within the domestic market for Food packaging.
- Circular Economy: Promote and leverage the company's circular economy and sustainability transformation strategy to maximise business growth.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, competitor analysis, and customer analysis to identify sales opportunities.
- Business Planning: Be responsible for price, product mix, and gross margin plans.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare budgets and forecasts (annual, quarterly, and monthly).
- Customer Service: Drive active customer service for our customers.
- Relationship Building: Build strong, trustful relationships with internal sales teams of factories in several European countries.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate to develop or improve systems and processes that enhance overall efficiency.
- Reporting: Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports to the Sales Director.
- Autonomy and Mobility: Work autonomously while meeting and exceeding Group expectations, being mobile and willing to travel frequently.
- Commercial Education: Commercial education with interest in customers and Food products.
- Sales Experience: Ideally experience in sales within the packaging industry.
- Food Packaging Expertise: Success in selling Food packaging would be advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Open-mindedness, good communication skills for internal and external networking.
- Problem-Solving Ability: The ability to multi-task, prioritise, and make decisions.
- Linguistic Proficiency: Professional written and oral communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Negotiation Skills: Good negotiation skills.
- Organisational Skills: Organisational and planning skills, along with the ability to analyse and solve problems.
- Presentation Skills: An ability to make formal presentations to management, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Good argumentation skills, adaptability, and the ability to innovate and work effectively in a team.
- Digital Literacy: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital applications.
