We are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Lead to join our team at AbbVie. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to drive strategic procurement initiatives and lead cross-functional teams.

About the Role

The Procurement Category Lead will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that align with business objectives, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings through process optimization and innovation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category-specific procurement strategies that achieve business objectives and drive value creation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, optimize workflows, and streamline procurement activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships to secure collaborative partnerships that drive cost savings and enhance overall procurement value.
  • Conduct market analysis, cost assessments, and financial evaluations to inform procurement decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of long-term procurement plans that align with business goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related business or operations function.
  • Previous experience leading supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Power Platform).
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
