District Manager, Institutional

Ecolab is in search of a District Manager to enhance our Institutional sector, which provides a wide range of chemical products and solutions tailored to the needs of clients in the foodservice and hospitality sectors. Our clientele includes restaurants, hotels, educational institutions, long-term care facilities, and more. In this role, you will represent Ecolab, overseeing and guiding a team of Territory Managers who deliver expert advice on advanced cleaning and sanitation practices that foster a positive guest experience while ensuring cleaner, safer, and healthier environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently meet the District budget.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and lead a team of Territory Managers to achieve business and sales growth objectives.
  • Ensure the team meets sales and service goals by adhering to key performance metrics and established protocols.
  • Focus on Retain, Grow, and Gain as a development strategy.
  • Deliver on financial targets by holding team members accountable for performance standards and enforcing minimum standards.
  • Achieve designated sales, productivity, utilization, and profit goals.
  • Expand and maintain market share through exceptional customer service and sales initiatives.
  • Engage in significant face-to-face interactions with Territory Managers and clients, fostering relationships and driving customer loyalty.
  • Conduct fieldwork to ensure excellent service and sales competencies.
  • Uphold safety standards in accordance with Ecolab guidelines.

This position will support the Dutch division in the Netherlands.

Required Qualifications:

  • HBO, bachelor’s degree, or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in customer relationship development and management.
  • Willingness to spend significant time with current and prospective clients.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong coaching abilities and a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Demonstrated skills in selection, hiring, and team development.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in PC applications including MS Office and CRM systems such as Sales Force and SAP.
