Hotel Okura Amsterdam is a prestigious 5-star hotel that embodies the perfect blend of Japanese and Dutch cultures. Our team strives to provide an authentic experience for our guests, and we're seeking a skilled Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team.

The Main Kitchen at Hotel Okura Amsterdam is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes for various departments, including Le Camelia, Room Service, Lobby Bar, and Banquet Operations. As one of the largest and most profitable kitchens in the Netherlands, we maintain exceptional standards of quality and efficiency.

As a Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast dishes, performing mise en place activities, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing dishes according to established recipes and standards;
  • Maintaining the highest level of product quality;
  • Working in line with the standards set by The Leading Hotels of the World;
  • Providing excellent service to guests, including advising on breakfast choices and interacting with them in a friendly and professional manner;
  • Ensuring the quality, freshness, and shelf life of ingredients meet our standards;
  • Adjusting food items to ensure they meet our quality, taste, texture, and color expectations;
  • Maintaining hygiene standards and adhering to health and safety regulations;
  • Controlling costs and receiving, checking, and storing incoming inventory effectively.

You will work in a dynamic team environment, collaborating with other departments and colleagues to deliver exceptional results. Our working hours are spread across a 7-day workweek, with a standard 7.6-hour day, 5 days a week.

We offer a competitive salary package, including:

  • A 1-year contract with the possibility of extension;
  • A salary in Group 5 (click here for details);
  • A bonus of 1 week's salary when the hotel reaches its budgeted Gross Operating Profit (GOP) level and you achieve a minimum total score in your yearly evaluation;
  • An 8% holiday allowance (pro rata) and 25 vacation days per year (pro rata);
  • Compensation for National Holidays;
  • The Horeca Collective Labor Agreement (CAO) applies;
  • Membership in the General Pension Scheme of Hospitality and Catering;
  • General Survivorship benefits;
  • A generous staff discount on overnight stays at Hotel Okura Amsterdam;
  • A 50% staff discount at one of our restaurants once a year;
  • A 20% staff discount in our restaurants;
  • A contribution towards travel expenses exceeding 10 km (one way);
  • A study budget of €1,000;
  • An overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (for two people) after completing the probationary period.
