As a PhD researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on developing a solid design and simulation platform for quantum processing units based on spin technology.
Research ObjectivesThe primary objective of this research program is to create a comprehensive framework to understand the electromagnetic properties of spin qubits in solid-state systems, supporting the development of the next generation of Quantum Processing Units (QPUs). The research will focus on the interaction between spin qubits and a superconducting resonator, aiming to explore optimal connectivity through the development of novel coupling architectures and to understand their decoherence and unwanted coupling mechanisms.
Responsibilities- Design and simulate quantum processing units based on spin technology.
- Develop novel coupling architectures for spin qubits and superconducting resonators.
- Investigate the electromagnetic properties of spin qubits in solid-state systems.
- Collaborate with other researchers from QuTech and the Microelectronics department of TU-Delft.
- Present research findings at international conferences and workshops.
To be eligible for this position, you should have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field. You should be passionate about solving real-world problems in quantum computing and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Prior experience with design and simulation of quantum circuits and nano-fabrication is not required, but a willingness to learn and apply new techniques is highly valued.
