About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a candidate with expertise in electrochemistry and systems engineering to contribute to impactful technology while gaining practical industry experience. As an Electrochemical Air Capture Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, testing, and optimizing electrochemical direct air capture (eDAC) systems aimed at capturing CO2 directly from the atmosphere.
Responsibilities- Conduct literature reviews on the latest technologies and trends in DAC and electrochemical systems.
- Support in choosing the most promising eDAC technologies.
- Support the set up of the electrochemical testing platform.
- Assist in the design and optimization of electrochemical systems for CO2 capture from ambient air.
- Support experimental testing and characterization of electrochemical cells, electrodes, and electrolytes.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to electrochemical performance and CO2 capture efficiency.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations on project progress and findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including material scientists and mechanical engineers, to enhance system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures.
- A degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and carbon capture technologies.
- Experience with laboratory work, including handling of electrochemical equipment, is preferred.
- Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar tools) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- An attractive salary of €40,000 - €55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
