Risk Management Specialist

As a key member of Booking.com's People Risk, Assurance and Compliance COE, you will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of people risks, internal controls, and supporting business processes. Your primary focus will be on managing identified risks through standard operating procedures, with a dedicated emphasis on HRIS systems. You will plan and implement system process improvement projects to enhance compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency in support of the company's business goals. Additionally, you will maintain and update technical standards as needed, provide application-level controls, and offer project management expertise to other groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct process-centric analysis to ensure operational, systems, and legislative controls are embedded in business processes.
- Assist control/product owners in improving the quality of supporting evidence and adherence to control narratives.
- Identify non-compliance issues and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement process-centric business controls to ensure compensating controls support SOX and business controls.
- Seamlessly integrate new compliance quality and process maturity initiatives into the governance model.
- Apply COSO risk management principles for communication and accountability of compliance deficiencies.
- Optimize business cross-platform operations and partner with the People Systems function.
- Participate in reviewing and updating application roles to meet changing business needs and identified gaps.
- Create, update, review, and approve documentation for new and existing business applications.
- Contribute to cross-functional team guidance for executing business controls and compensating controls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- CISA/CGEIT/CRISC certification or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in an operational function.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems, ideally in HR.
