Position Overview
As the Group Data Privacy Lead, you will drive operational strategies, including risk evaluations, incident management, documentation, and training initiatives to foster a culture of privacy awareness. We are looking for a motivated and proactive privacy expert with a solid grasp of GDPR and a proven track record in applying privacy principles to help build a strong privacy framework.
Reporting directly to the Group Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will work collaboratively to synchronize all data protection efforts across various company divisions, ensuring a holistic approach. You will engage with cross-functional teams in our diverse operations, playing a crucial role in developing a cohesive privacy structure that is vital for upholding the organization's integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Evaluation: Perform comprehensive risk evaluations, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs), to pinpoint and mitigate privacy risks.
- Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training sessions for staff on data protection policies, procedures, and best practices to cultivate a privacy-aware culture.
- Management of Data Subject Rights: Address requests related to data subject rights, ensuring prompt and compliant responses. Oversee the DPO mailbox to manage incoming inquiries.
- Incident Management: Collaborate with relevant teams to investigate data breaches or privacy incidents and execute response strategies.
- Vendor and Third-Party Compliance: Evaluate the data protection practices of vendors and third parties to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and effectively manage Data Processing Agreements.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keep and regularly audit records of processing activities (RoPAs) to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
- Implementation Assistance: Support the Group DPO in the execution of data privacy strategies, policies, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Data Inventory Oversight: Maintain an inventory of processed personal data, ensuring precise data mapping within the organization.
- Specialist Advisory Role: Provide expert guidance and recommendations on various data protection matters to both the business and clients.
- Legal Compliance Monitoring: Actively track changes in privacy laws and regulations impacting the organization across Europe.
Impact and Contributions
- You will lead operational initiatives, such as risk evaluations, incident management, documentation, and training programs to elevate awareness.
Desired Experience and Attributes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection or privacy-related roles, preferably within a multi-jurisdictional organization.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices.
- Proficient in utilizing technology.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with DPIAs, RoPAs, Data Processing Agreements, and data breach response.
- Certification in data protection, such as CIPP/E.
- Familiarity with data privacy software like OneTrust.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations in jurisdictions such as Germany, the UK, Spain, or France.
