Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Financial Controller to join our team at Fugro Fleet Services in Leidschendam, The Netherlands. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial control of our projects, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively initiating and maintaining project budgets with project managers, challenging assumptions and monitoring actual versus budget performance.
  • Identifying, managing, and reporting risks, deadlines, and contractual obligations, as well as monitoring progress, cash flows, claims, and variation orders.
  • Delivering timely project results for monthly and quarterly reports, including project forecasts and early warnings on financial risks and results.
  • Collecting, monitoring, and analyzing relevant financial and project data to identify improvements and trends.
  • Developing, implementing, and enhancing relevant procedures and processes to increase efficiency.
  • Controlling and monitoring project processes and documents, including finance, tax, compliance, purchasing, subcontracts, audits, insurance, and project risks.
  • Providing ad hoc reporting requests from management, business control, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Economics or Business Administration.
  • 3+ years of relevant project experience and affinity with a technical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels, including finance, business management, and operations.
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Persistent and proactive in pursuing financial project information needed to control projects.
  • Team player with well-developed analytical skills.
