Job Title: Technical Instructor

Carnival Corporation and plc is seeking a highly skilled Technical Instructor to join our team at CSMART. As a Technical Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering training to ship-board technical staff, developing courses and procedures, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training to ship-board technical staff
  • Develop courses and procedures to be implemented on board ships
  • Act as a representative of the corporate safety culture and promote this attitude with candidates
  • Liaise with the Operations Support team and other instructors to ensure everything is prepared prior to start of courses
  • Follow up with underperforming and outstanding participant process
  • Manage equipment including simulators and any deficiencies

Requirements and Experience:

  • Typically 5 years of experience in a STCW (III/2 Chief engineer unlimited or III/6) licensed role
  • Experience as a Senior Engineer / Superintendent or Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years
  • Experience in a Leadership role in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years
  • Analytical and structured thinker
  • Cruise Ship experience is highly preferred
  • Experience in teaching / instructing would be an asset

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of technical aspects, industry standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of computers & networks
  • Proficient in MS Office

Language Skills:

  • Fluent written and verbal English language
  • Able to effectively convey information across

Personal Skills:

  • Growing mindset and able to influence others
  • Able to navigate complex social dynamics Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Works well in a multi-cultural team
  • Ability to work unassisted
