Job Description

CSMART, an esteemed organization under Carnival Corporation and plc, is currently seeking a highly skilled Technical Instructor to join our dedicated team. As a Technical Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering training to cruise ship officers, focusing on crew resource management, current and emerging technologies, and procedures achieved by training and simulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering training to ship-board technical staff.
  • Delivering courses according to the CSMART course delivery process.
  • Representing the corporate safety culture and promoting this attitude with candidates.
  • Developing courses/new procedures to be implemented on board ships.
  • Staying up-to-date with current practices and technology.
  • Liaising with the Operations Support team and other instructors to ensure everything is prepared prior to start of courses.
  • Following up with underperforming and outstanding participant process.
  • Managing equipment including simulators and any deficiencies.

Requirements & Experience:

  • Typically, experience should be or have been in the role of STCW (III/2 Chief engineer unlimited or III/6) licensed role for at least 5 years.
  • Experience as a Senior Engineer / Superintendent or Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years.
  • Experience in a Leadership role in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years.
  • Analytical and structured thinker.
  • Cruise Ship experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in teaching / instructing would be an asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Possess a deep understanding of technical aspects, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of computers & networks.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Language Skills:

  • Apply fluent written and verbal English language.
  • Able to effectively convey information across.

Personal Skills:

  • Demonstrate a growing mindset and able to influence others.
  • Able to navigate complex social dynamics Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Works well in a multi-cultural team.
  • Ability to work unassisted.
