Researcher in Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Perovskite Materials

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the Leiden Institute of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Leiden University. The successful candidate will work on the project "Ultrafast broadband-THz spectroscopy of perovskite materials".

About the Project

The project focuses on understanding the motion of photoexcited electrons in metal-halide perovskites within the framework of dynamic disorder. The researcher will construct and use an optical-pump/broadband-THz probe spectrometer to probe the frequency-resolved photoconductivity on timescales spanning picoseconds to nanoseconds.

About the Position

The PhD researcher will be part of a young and dynamic team working on advanced ultrafast spectroscopy and materials development. The position is available for one year, with the possibility of extension for three years. The salary is in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Strong interest in ultrafast spectroscopy, solid-state chemistry/physics
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both verbally and written
  • Hands-on mentality, not afraid to tackle complex experimental setups and challenges
