Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the Universiteit Leiden. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy, with a focus on perovskite materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced spectroscopic setups to investigate the dynamics of electrons in perovskite materials.
  • Develop and optimize solution-based perovskite synthesis methods.
  • Collect and analyze time-resolved and nonlinear spectroscopic data.
  • Model acquired data using state-of-the-art theory and programming languages such as Python or Matlab.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to discuss research findings and contribute to the development of new ideas.
  • Present research results at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in teaching activities and develop additional skills through soft skill courses and schools.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in ultrafast spectroscopy and solid-state chemistry/physics.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both verbally and written.
  • Hands-on mentality and ability to tackle complex experimental setups and challenges.
What We Offer
  • A one-year position with the possibility of extension for three years.
  • A salary ranging from € 2.770,- to € 3.539,- gross per month, depending on experience.
