Job Title: Research Group Lead Optics

Job Summary:

The Research Group Lead Optics will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15-20 professionals in the field of optics and metrology. This is a senior management role that combines deep technical knowledge, experience, and overview with strong management and people development skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of professionals in the field of optics and metrology, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality research results.
  • Develop and maintain the technical competence of the team, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in optics and metrology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to drive innovation and growth in the field of optics and metrology.
  • Contribute to the development of the company's research strategy and goals, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Take ownership of the research facilities, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards and are equipped with the latest technology.
Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD in physics and/or optics, with a strong background in research and development.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in managing teams in relevant fields of science.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and growth in a research environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
