Job Overview

ASML is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Group Lead to join our Optics and Metrology team. As a key member of our research management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the field of optics and optical metrology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of ~20 professionals with matrixed connections and projects.
  • Create and deploy a group mission and vision.
  • Leverage and develop the skills of team members by creating teams with complementary skills and coaching them in personal effectiveness and development.
  • Hire world-class group members to excel in project deliverables.
  • Responsible for the planning and allocation of people to various project activities, in cooperation with program and project managers.
  • Involved in rolling out HR activities, like target setting, development conversations, appraisals, etc.
  • Contribute to group overarching activities by cooperation with colleagues, being part of the Research management team.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in physics and/or optics.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in managing teams in relevant fields of science.
  • Experience in applied research in academia and/or industry and recognized as one of the main contributors.
  • Strong analytical skills, intelligent, quick thinker.
  • Motivated by new technical content.
  • Driven to push boundaries.
  • Strong proven managerial skills.
  • Able to grow people and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
