Key Responsibilities

As a Supplier Quality Engineer within the Mechanical Development division, your primary objective is to minimize risks associated with design and supplier product manufacturing. We focus on developing modules in the Flow and Temperature sectors, where cleanliness and leak tightness in gas and water systems are vital for quality assurance. From the early stages of supplier engagement in product design to ensuring that the supplier processes are sufficiently mature for mass production, your role is to enhance and oversee quality performance between the supplier and ASML's Development projects.

Your main areas of focus will include:

Conducting risk assessments when introducing new components with technologically advanced requirements to the supplier. Establishing risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders by analyzing supplier technology and manufacturability capabilities, while promoting early supplier involvement in ASML's design initiatives. Implementing the risk mitigation strategies, which may involve developing suppliers in new production aspects (e.g., process and qualification techniques), while balancing technology requirements, quality, and time-to-market considerations.

All activities must align with the sector and business line objectives.

Early Supplier Engagement: You will participate in development projects during the initial design phases to ensure manufacturability and technology availability from suppliers, driving early supplier involvement. New Product Launch: In addition to executing the risk mitigation strategies with suppliers (e.g., Manufacturing Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Specification agreements), you will assist them with complex qualification and manufacturing challenges (e.g., yield and quality enhancements). You will also ensure a smooth transition to the volume Quality Supplier Managers department within ASML. Supplier Development: At the supplier's site, you will oversee and challenge manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reliability using Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., MSA, Capability analysis). Additionally, you will identify non-conformities in your products through First Article Inspections and lead subsequent improvement initiatives in collaboration with the supplier.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanics, mechatronics, applied physics, or industrial engineering.

Experience:

5-10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality engineering at one or more companies. Experience in high-tech, low-volume industries and/or prototype manufacturing is advantageous. Ability to merge technical expertise with supplier management. Lean 6S experience (e.g., DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, 8D); Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred.

Additional Information

The Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) group, part of the Machine Conditioning (MC) cluster, enables the MC cluster to fulfill industrialization requirements at suppliers and deliver exceptional solutions related to flow and thermal domains, ensuring product quality.

In today's intricate multi-tier supply chains, achieving this is only possible by fostering complete transparency within the chains and ensuring flexibility at suppliers. The SQE group collaborates with over 60 suppliers, often extending several tiers deep. This position may require international travel, up to 30%.
