Key Responsibilities

As a Supplier Quality Engineer within the Mechanical Development division, your primary objective is to mitigate risks associated with design and supplier manufacturing processes. We focus on developing modules in the Flow and Temperature domains, where cleanliness and leak integrity in gas and water systems are paramount to quality. From early supplier engagement in product design to ensuring supplier processes are sufficiently mature for mass production, your role is to drive and oversee quality performance between suppliers and ASML's Development projects.

Your main areas of focus include:

Conducting risk assessments when integrating new components with technologically advanced specifications into the supplier's processes. Formulating risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders by analyzing supplier capabilities and ensuring early supplier engagement in ASML's design initiatives. Implementing the risk mitigation strategies, which may involve developing suppliers in new production techniques while balancing technology requirements, quality, and time-to-market.

All activities must align with sector and business line objectives.

Early Supplier Engagement: You will participate in development projects during the initial design phases to ensure manufacturability and technology availability from suppliers, promoting early supplier involvement. New Product Launch: In addition to executing risk mitigation plans with suppliers (e.g., Manufacturing Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Specification agreements), you will assist them with complex qualification and manufacturing challenges (e.g., yield and quality enhancements). You will also ensure a smooth transition to the volume Quality Supplier Managers department within ASML. Supplier Development: At the supplier's facility, you will oversee and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reliability using Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., MSA, Capability analysis). Additionally, you will identify product non-conformities through First Article Inspections and drive subsequent improvement initiatives in collaboration with the supplier.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, applied physics, or industrial engineering.

Experience:

5-10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality engineering within organizations. Experience in high-tech, low-volume industries and/or prototype manufacturing is advantageous. Ability to integrate technical knowledge with supplier management. Lean Six Sigma experience (e.g., DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, 8D); Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred.

Additional Information

The Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) group, part of the Machine Conditioning (MC) cluster, enables the MC cluster to fulfill industrialization requirements at suppliers, delivering excellent solutions related to flow and thermal domains to ensure product quality.

In today's intricate multi-tier supply chains, achieving this is only possible by fostering complete transparency and flexibility among suppliers. The SQE group collaborates with over 60 suppliers, often extending several tiers deep. This position may require international travel, up to 30% of the time.
