We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of International Relations to join our team at Universiteit Leiden. As a leading research university, we are committed to excellence in teaching and research, and we are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for international relations and can contribute to our academic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and publish advanced research on international relations
  • Mentor junior colleagues and supervise PhD students
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate students in international relations
  • Play a leading role in applying for external research funding
  • Contribute to the intellectual and administrative life of the Institute
Requirements
  • PhD in International Relations or a related field
  • Strong record of publications in leading journals and/or scholarly presses
  • Clear agenda for future research that relates to the research programme and strategic plan of the Institute and Faculty
  • Proven track record of winning research grants, leading research projects, and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Experience in designing and delivering high-quality education at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Leadership experience and ability to provide visionary, inclusive, and respectful leadership
